Amenities: For now just the basics, firewood, water, straw and porta-toilets will be provided at the site. Participants will also have free admission to the visitor center throughout the weekend.
Sutlers: A limited number of sutlers have been invited to the event. It will not be like a 19th century outlet mall, but we hope to have several vendors on hand to cater to your needs.
Galvanized Yankees: Federal troops are often in short supply. To have the best quality event possible it may be necessary for some units to galvanize for the tactical or the battle reenactment. We ask everyone to be a good sport about this. If you or your group has a reasonably good Federal impressions please bring your Union gear. It will help us make the event better and your assistance will be much appreciated.
Organization: To the extent possible, this event will follow 1st Confederate Div organizational structures and policies. Other pre-existing affiliations and chains of command may also be recognized. Very small groups can expect brigaded with larger units to form reasonably sized tactical formations. Elected leaders (officer or NCO) of all participating reenactment groups are responsible for the men that are with them. Unit leaders will be expected to see to the behavior, safety and well being of their men.
Tactical/Battle: There will be a tactical skirmish scenario Saturday. While this event will be open to the public, it is primarily for the enjoyment of participants and much of it will take place away form the public's view. The Sunday battle scenario will attempt to recreate a small portion of the June 1864 battle. It is a spectator event and should draw a large crowd Please plan to stay for the Sunday battle if at all possible. Both fights will take place over portions of the original battlefield where fierce fighting raged.
